Single Deck Blackjack - Game Overview 

In any blackjack game, your objective is to beat the dealer by building a total hand value close to, but not exceeding 21 points.

You must continue to draw cards until your hand totals 21, or comes as close as possible without going over it.

If the value of your initial two cards is 21 - an Ace paired with a 10 or picture card - then you win blackjack.

If you stand, then you will not be dealt any extra cards.

Any hand that exceeds 21 will be considered bust, and irrespective of the dealer's hand, this is settled as a loser.

The dealer is forced to draw on 16, and if they are on 17 or bigger they will always stand.

If the dealer’s hand is worth the same as yours then the hand is a ‘push’, which will see your bet refunded.

Values of the Cards

An Ace may be valued at either 1 or 11, and the card will assume the value that is most beneficial to your hand.

The cards 2-9 are taken at face value, while the 10, Jack, Queen and King all have a value of 10.

How to Bet

To place your bet, just select the chip from the rack at the bottom, and then place it in the required box on the casino table.

Placing bets - begin the Single Deck Blackjack game by placing your wagers. Clicking within a bet box will place a bet with your chosen chip size

Removing bets - if you hit the ‘Undo’ button, your most recent chip is removed from the table

Clear bets - clicking ‘Clear Bets’ erases all of your chips on the table

Deal - selecting ‘Deal’ begins the game with the initial cards being dealt to you and the dealer. Two cards are dealt to you, both face up

Hit - if you click ‘Hit’, an extra card is added to your hand currently in play

Stand - hit ‘Stand’ to end the play on your active hand

Repeat and deal - clicking ‘Repeat and Deal’ causes your bet from the most recent game to be repeated

Let ‘em ride - when you select ‘Let ‘em Ride’, your bet from the previous game is repeated, although you wager all of your winnings from that game. This option is unavailable if you took out insurance in your last hand

Splitting - if two cards of equal value are dealt to you, you have the opportunity to split your hand, dividing your hand in two. When splitting, you are required to place a wager on the second hand that is equal to the amount wagered on your original bet

In this version of blackjack, you can only split matching face cards, meaning a Queen paired with a Jack in your first two cards will not be split.

If you split Aces and then draw a card with a value of 10, it isn't classed as blackjack. The value of this hand is 21, but if the dealer draws blackjack, your hand will lose.

Double down - this enables you to double your original bet. Once you've doubled, only one more card can be dealt to you, and this will only be done if your initial two cards total 9, 10 or 11

Insurance - if the dealer’s first card is an Ace, you can safeguard your hand by buying insurance. The price of insurance is half of your initial wager, and if the dealer does draw blackjack, your insurance pays out at 2:1, and you lose your initial wager

If the dealer does not have blackjack, your insurance bet is lost, and the hand is played out as normal.

The payouts available in Single Deck Blackjack are as follows:

- Winning Hand - 1:1

- Blackjack - 3:2

- Insurance - 2:1

Return to Player

Return To Player (RTP): 99.91%.

The expected return is the amount we pay out to players relative to the amount of wagering on the game.

For example, if we take $100 of wagers we will, on average, pay out $99.91 of wins.

This return is based on the player making the best choices.
